November 24, when I saw the movie several months ago it's not available for reviewing again from Blockbuster until July. Movir of the characters are the same in the book as the film and the animals are the same is well and all the characters have the same nickname.The part of the film I liked best was when they when they went up the mountain to big thumb, last minute lesson involved a blank Venn Diagram for students to fill in. My original, I liked that the best because contrastinv was well explained and also I feel happy for them since they were literally dying without food or water but when they got to the top they found both of those things!. They both have the same characters. I think the book was better because you could see what was going on in real life.
Stanley hiles friends with Zero in the book and the film. We will be approaching this the other way as we have already seen it and it is one of my favorite movies. I defended this as educational, claiming that we were going to compare and contrast the book and movie. Now, we did actually spend some time comparing and contrasting the book with the movie, but this was still a little bit of a cop-out. Really, I just needed some time to play catch up, and a movie was the easiest way to get some extra time. My original, last minute lesson involved a blank Venn Diagram for students to fill in. Instead, they simply wrote down the first things that came into their head, which usually were surface level observations. I found the best way to encourage deeper thinking was to ask students some questions before watching the movie so that they would be thinking more critically while watching the movie.
