I love the idea ocver finding an old journal, a girl who moves to Italy after her mom dies. Sonia is a positive female adult in Lina's life: helpful, friendly, and discovering that this book incorporated that got me really excited. The journaling aspects in Love and Gelato really drew me in. This book tells the story of Lina.

For me, summer is the time for reads that feel good. I want to fall into a story— be able to head to the beach and read it in one sitting. Every summer, I have a certain list of books that I re-read without fail. My old summer favorites reflect the sunshine through vivid characters, sweet moments, and overall just happy stories. This past weekend at the beach for Memorial Day, I re-devoured this one. The adorable front cover smells like the sunscreen I wear and the pages always smell like the beach. If you were to shake out my copy, sand would fall out from between the pages.
