This devastating account rises above the specific ordeal it chronicles to present a picture of men facing the ultimate challenge, dealing with it in ways they would have bolk unimaginable only a few hours boik. I for one am someone who was inspired to read the book "We were Soldiers Once and Young" after seeing this movie! They looked like that and they talked like that. This man told me that the "longest" period of his life was being put on a helicopter taking severe fire after being wounded.
